Please read the following, if there is something you then need to discuss please do so. We will do our best to be flexible.
Contract. A contract for a short-term holiday letting shall be entered into when Borthwood Cottages receives a deposit from the client.
Payment. A deposit of £100 of the total rental shall be payable on booking, with the balance payable 6 weeks before the commencement of the rental. If booking less than 6 weeks before commencement the full rental is required on booking.
Cancellation. On receipt of notice of cancellation from the client, Borthwood Cottages will endeavour to re-let the cottage for the full period. If successful the client will be refunded all monies paid. Should it be possible to only re-let part of the period booked then the refund will only be for the period re-let. If Borthwood Cottages is unable to re-let, then all monies paid by the client shall be forfeited. We recommend that our clients take out cancellation insurance to cover this eventuality.
Hire Period. The hire shall commence at 3.30pm on the day of arrival and finish at 10.00am on day of departure unless otherwise agreed.
Number in Party. The number of persons occupying any cottage must not exceed the number specified on the booking form.
Breakages. Minor damage or breakages will not normally be charged to the client but the client is legally bound to reimburse the proprietors for repairs, replacements and additional cleaning if so requested.
Care. The proprietor will endeavour to provide their clients with a cottage in a high state of cleanliness with all equipment in a good state of repair. The client is requested to take all reasonable care of the property, furniture and effects and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the period.
Breakdowns. Whilst every endeavour is made to maintain equipment in good condition, breakdowns will occur occasionally. In the event of a breakdown the client is requested to inform the proprietors so that repairs or replacements can be initiated.
Pets. By prior arrangement. Dogs must not be left unattended and please be aware that other guests may not be pet owners. There is a small charge of £10.00 per dog per week/part week.
Right of Entry. The proprietors will not enter the cottages other than by arrangement with the guests to carry out urgent repairs. However, we reserve the right to enter the property at any time in the event of any occurrence which might endanger the property.
Liability. The proprietors shall not be liable for any loss or damage to the clients belongings howsoever caused. It is the clients’ responsibility to supervise children at all times when outside the cottage. In the event of the cottage becoming unavailable before the start of the rental period the proprietor will endeavour to find alternative accommodation or failing this refund all monies in full.
Smoking or naked flames are not allowed (candles/matches etc) in any of the properties.
Electric Cars & Vans. Permission is required before charging a car and there is a charge of £45.00 per car per week/part week.
Wifi. We do provide free Wifi, however we cannot guarantee a consistent service as we are a long way from the telephone exchange.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel the reservation due to circumstances beyond our control, we will provide a full refund of monies paid. No further financial claims will be considered.
